The Workshop
One of the main challenges in today's complex web site design and
development is satisfying thousands of web site target audience with
many different goals. Eventhough it is technologically feasible to
include all possible functionalities for those thousands with many
different goals, such web sites often fail to satisfy the needs of any
target audience.
Personas are simple, yet powerful to focus web design effort. Based on
well-researched information about target audience, personas are able
to translate "data" into "information" that are useful for designing
usable web sites and streamlining web design and development
processes.
This one-day workshop will introduce you to personas through hands-on
training. You will learn practical, innovative and inexpensive persona
techniques to create usable web sites.
During the workshop, you will learn how to:
* gather web design requirements for personas
* differentiate "User Profiling" from "Creating Personas"
* create personas
* avoid the most common pitfalls of persona creation
* transfom personas into usable web design elements
At the end of the day you will understand the benefits of personas and
able to use them to create usable web sites.
Hands-on Experience
The workshop is practical, interactive and hands-on. Mixed with
lectures and assignments, you will be working in a group to develop
personas and use them in some interactive sessions.
Our goal is to make sure that you have sufficient knowledge and
experience to apply straight-forward persona techniques and use them
for creating usable web sites the moment you get back to your office.
